Henschke Stone Jar Tempranillo 2025

Henschke Stone Jar is an Eden Valley Tempranillo, the Spanish variety that has adapted well to Australia's warmer elevated sites.

Tempranillo ripens early and holds structure without excessive alcohol, which suits the Eden Valley, where cool nights slow the season on old, weathered soils. The name refers to the stone jars once used to carry water out to workers in the vineyard. The fruit is fermented in small open vessels and matured in seasoned French oak, giving a wine built more on savoury structure than on oak.

Serve at 16 degrees with chorizo, paella or grilled lamb. Drink over the next eight years.
