Description
Henschke Tappa Pass is a Barossa Shiraz drawn from old vineyards along the road that links the valley floor to Eden Valley.
Tappa Pass is the old track over the ranges between Angaston and Keyneton, and the vineyards along it sit at varying heights, which spreads the harvest and gives the blend both richness and lift. Some of the plantings are among the oldest surviving Shiraz anywhere, South Australia having escaped phylloxera. Parcels are fermented separately, basket-pressed and matured in French and American oak hogsheads.
Decant and serve at 17 degrees with barbecued beef, braised short rib or aged cheddar. It will develop over twelve years.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
