Description

Hesketh Small Batch Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is made in limited volume from cool, high vineyards.

The Small Batch range takes single parcels and gives them more cellar work than the regional wines, in this case barrel fermentation and lees ageing. The Adelaide Hills' altitude keeps the acidity taut through that process, which is what separates its Chardonnay from the warmer regions below. Fruit is whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak.

Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, scallops or a soft cheese. It develops over six years.
