Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyards Brooks Road Shiraz 2019

Hickinbotham Brooks Road Shiraz comes from a single block on the Clarendon vineyard's cooler upper slopes.

Brooks Road runs along the top of the property, where altitude and the gully breeze slow ripening and give Shiraz a firmer, more savoury frame than the McLaren Vale floor. The vineyard has been in production since 1971 and its fruit built the reputations of several famous Australian reds before the estate began bottling under its own name in 2012. Fermentation is in open vessels with maturation in French oak.

Decant and serve at 17 degrees with roast beef, lamb or game. It will develop over fifteen years.
