Isole e Olena Chianti Classico 2022

Isole e Olena Chianti Classico is the estate wine of a property that has been among the most admired addresses in the zone for four decades.

The estate sits near Barberino Tavarnelle in the north-west of Chianti Classico, and was formed when the De Marchi family joined the two adjoining farms of Isole and Olena in the 1950s. Chianti Classico is the historic heartland of the wider Chianti region, its boundaries first drawn by the Grand Duke of Tuscany in 1716 and among the earliest demarcated wine zones anywhere. Sangiovese leads the blend, with a small proportion of Canaiolo, a traditional local partner that has been part of the recipe since the nineteenth century. The wine is matured in a mix of large casks and smaller barrels.

Serve at around 18 degrees with pasta al ragù, roast pork, grilled meats or Tuscan bean dishes.
