Jansz Tasmania Vintage Rosé 2019

Jansz Tasmania Vintage Rosé is a single-vintage sparkling rosé made entirely from Tasmanian Pinot Noir.

Pinot Noir is the grape Tasmania does best for sparkling, and this Pipers River house, making traditional-method wine in the state's north-east since the 1980s and now owned by the Hill-Smith family, dedicates this release to it alone. Barrel fermentation of the base wine adds complexity and a fine tannin texture before the second fermentation in bottle. Time on yeast lees builds creamy richness through the middle of the palate, with a roasted almond and nougat note, and natural acidity keeps the finish long and refreshing.

Serve chilled with duck breast and cherries, seared tuna, or a platter of charcuterie. It also works beautifully on its own at the start of a special dinner.
