Jansz Tasmania Vintage Rosé 2020

Jansz Tasmania Vintage Rosé is a Pinot Noir sparkling rosé from a single Tasmanian vintage, with a delicate salmon-pink colour.

Made by the Pipers River house that has specialised in Tasmanian sparkling since the 1980s, this rosé draws only on Pinot Noir, the grape that gives the island's sparkling wines their perfume and finesse. The base wine is barrel fermented for an extra layer of complexity and fine tannin, then completes its second fermentation in bottle by the traditional method. Lees ageing adds sweet brioche and nougat to the raspberry and strawberry fruit, with fresh natural acidity driving the finish. The business has been owned by the Hill-Smith family of Yalumba since the late 1990s.

Chill it well and pair it with seared salmon, roast quail, a beetroot and goat's cheese salad or a berry tart. It's a special-occasion rosé that can also sit in the cellar for a few more years.
