JC's Own Lobethal Chardonnay 2025

JC's Own Lobethal Chardonnay is an Adelaide Hills Chardonnay given an extended seventeen months on lees.

JC's Own is the personal label of Barossa winemaker Jaysen Collins, co-founder of Massena, made in small quantities from sites he knows well. For Chardonnay he looks beyond the Barossa to Lobethal, in the cooler, higher central part of the Adelaide Hills, where elevation and cool nights preserve natural acidity and give the fruit a fine, linear frame. The Adelaide Hills has become one of Australia's leading regions for Chardonnay, favouring restrained, mineral styles over the richer wines of warmer areas. This wine spends seventeen months on its lees before bottling, a long period that builds texture and complexity while keeping the wine taut and focused.

Fine, textured and fresh, it suits roast chicken, crab, scallops and pork; serve at around 11 degrees.
