Jim Barry Single Vineyard Cabernet Malbec Cellar Release is the 2018 vintage of the family's single-site Clare Valley blend, released with added bottle age.

The Barry family has grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec side by side since its first plantings in 1964, reflecting a blend with deep roots in the Clare. Drawing on one vineyard lets the wine express a specific site and season. Cabernet gives blueberry, mulberry and black olive savouriness, while Malbec adds fresh cherry and plum, and a touch of oak spice frames it all. Holding the wine back before release has softened the edges, leaving a long, structured red with well-integrated savoury tannins.

A good partner for roast leg of lamb with rosemary, grilled sausages with lentils, or osso buco. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees, with a short decant if you have time.
