Jim Barry Single Vineyard The Farm Cabernet Malbec is a spicy, densely fruited red from a single Barry family site in the Clare Valley.

Single-vineyard wines let the family highlight what each of its Clare sites does best, and The Farm is one of the vineyards chosen for its own label. The Cabernet Malbec blend is a Clare Valley classic, and it has been part of the family story since Jim Barry, the region's first qualified winemaker, planted both varieties in 1964. In 2021 the wine shows ripe dark fruit, plum and a hint of tobacco leaf with olive tapenade savouriness. The palate is firm yet supple, with a spicy line of oak integrated into the fruit.

Decant for 30 minutes and serve at 16 to 18 degrees. Try it with Moroccan-spiced lamb, a Sunday beef roast or a hard sheep's milk cheese.
