Jim Barry Single Vineyard The Farm Cabernet Sauvignon is a silky, medium-weighted Cabernet from a single vineyard in the Clare Valley.

The Farm lies in the Lodge Hill area of the Clare Valley's eastern ranges, where the family's vines were planted in the late 1990s. Higher sites like this bring cooler nights, which help Cabernet keep its aromatic lift and fine tannins. The Barry family, making wine here since 1959, chooses its best parcels for single-vineyard bottlings like this one. The 2023 shows classic Cabernet character, with cassis, red plum and tobacco leaf lifted by fresh herbs, a plush core of red and black fruit, light cedar oak and super-fine tannins.

A versatile red at 16 to 18 degrees, it works with a herb-crusted rack of lamb, beef carpaccio or a mushroom and thyme tart.
