Description

Jim Barry St Clare Cabernet Malbec Cellar Release is a 2018 Clare Valley blend, released after additional time in bottle.

The St Clare label draws on the Barry family's heritage in the Clare Valley, where Jim Barry became the region's first qualified winemaker and founded his business in 1959. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec are a traditional pairing here, and the family's own story with the blend goes back to Jim's first plantings of both in 1964. Held back for a later cellar release, this 2018 shows spiced plum, mulberry, black cherry and cedar, with a lively dark-fruited drive and dusty, fine tannins.

Serve at 16 to 18 degrees with grilled lamb cutlets, beef empanadas or a mushroom and barley stew. It's ready to drink now.
