John Duval Plexus Marsanne Roussanne Viognier 2024

John Duval Plexus Marsanne Roussanne Viognier is a Barossa white blend of three Rhône varieties.

Plexus is Latin for 'interwoven', and this white partner to the Plexus red weaves together Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier. The aim is to draw fruit aromas from the interplay of the three grapes, and to build texture and structure on the palate instead of relying only on crisp acidity. John Duval and his son Tim make it from Barossa fruit. The 2024 shows pear, Fuji apple and white flowers on the nose, with textured layers of yellow pear, apple, quince and mandarin.

Serve lightly chilled, around 10 to 12 degrees, so the texture comes through. Roast chicken, pork belly with apple, or a creamy prawn risotto are all good choices.
