John Duval Plexus Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre 2023

John Duval Plexus Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre is the Duval family's Barossa take on the classic Rhône-style blend.

Plexus was the first wine John Duval released under his own name, after leaving his long-held role at Penfolds. It blends Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre, the three varieties the Barossa has grown since its early days, much of it from old vines. The 2023 has black cherry, plum and boysenberry with subtle florals, savoury spice and a touch of bush garrigue. The palate is juicy, pure and balanced, with fine tannins.

Pour it at around 16 degrees. Moroccan lamb, pulled pork, grilled chorizo or a simple roast chicken all sit comfortably alongside.
