Description
Joseph Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru 'Aux Beaux Bruns' is a red Burgundy from one of the most finely sited villages of the Côte de Nuits.
Domaine Faiveley was founded at Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825 and has passed through seven generations of the family, which makes it one of the larger and longer established domaines in Burgundy, with holdings across the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. Chambolle-Musigny has the lightest, stoniest soils of the Côte de Nuits, with limestone close to the surface and little clay, and its Pinot Noir is correspondingly delicate. Aux Beaux Bruns is a premier cru on the slope above the village. The domaine's reds have been made with a lighter hand on new oak since Erwan Faiveley took charge in the mid 2000s. Musigny and Bonnes-Mares, the village's two grand crus, sit on either flank.
Give it several years, and serve at cool room temperature with roast poultry, veal or mushroom dishes.
