Kanta Riesling 2024

Kanta Riesling is an Adelaide Hills Riesling made with the input of Egon Müller, one of Germany's most famous Riesling producers.

Kanta began as a collaboration between Egon Müller, whose family owns the renowned Scharzhof estate in the Mosel, and Australian partners in the Adelaide Hills. The cool, high vineyards of the Hills give Riesling fine acidity and delicacy, and the wine is made in a restrained style focused on texture. The 2024 is complex on the nose with beeswax, elderflower, fennel and spearmint. The palate is soft and delicate, with aniseed, chamomile, honeydew melon and lemon zest.

Chill it well and serve with crab linguine, pork schnitzel, a Japanese-style omelette or soft cheeses. It is approachable now and has the balance to develop nicely over the coming years.
