Kientzler Riesling 2022

Kientzler Riesling is the estate's dry village Riesling, from vineyards below its grand cru parcels at Ribeauville.

Ribeauville sits where three grand crus, Geisberg, Osterberg and Kirchberg, rise steeply behind the town, and the Kientzler family has built its name on Riesling from them. This bottling draws on the estate's other vineyards and is made in the same way: whole cluster pressing, a slow cool fermentation in stainless steel, no malolactic fermentation and a period on fine lees before bottling. The house style is uncompromisingly dry: residual sugar sits at 1.4 grams per litre, and the wine is bottled under stelvin to keep it fresh and precise.

Dry, firm and lemony, it is a good match for trout, oysters, choucroute and roast chicken; serve chilled at around 9 degrees.
