Kings County Bottled in Bond Bourbon is a 100-proof Brooklyn bourbon meeting the American bonded standard, in a half-size bottle.

Bottled in Bond is the strictest label in American whiskey: distilled, aged and bottled at a single distillery from barrels filled in one season, at least four years old and bottled at precisely 100 proof. Kings County was among the first craft distillers to take it on. The house mash leans on organic New York corn with a high proportion of English malted barley and no wheat or rye at all, and the spirit is double distilled in copper pot stills in the Paymaster Building at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The bonded designation means the bottle is a straight snapshot of one season's work.

Rounded and classic, with caramel, baked apple, malt loaf and a firm oak spine, the 100 proof giving it grip without heat. Neat or over one large cube. It makes a textbook Old Fashioned, and the smaller bottle is a good way in.
