Kings County Straight Bourbon 375ml

Kings County Straight Bourbon 375ml is a half-bottle of Brooklyn's flagship high-malt bourbon.

The mash bill is the point of difference: 80 per cent organic New York corn from the Finger Lakes with English Golden Promise barley making up the balance, and no wheat or rye anywhere. It reads like a Scotch recipe, and the distillation follows suit, run twice through copper pot stills for a purer, more flavourful spirit than column distillation delivers. Maturation stretches between three and six years across a variety of new charred oak barrels. Critics routinely name it among the best bourbons made outside Kentucky, which for a Brooklyn operation founded in 2010 is no small thing.

Toffee, vanilla bean and dark berry over a base of toasted grain, with a warm and lingering finish. Neat, or one cube if you prefer. The half-bottle makes a good gift and mixes into a first-rate Old Fashioned or Whiskey Sour.
