Kings County Straight Rye Whiskey

Kings County Straight Rye Whiskey is a pot-distilled New York rye aged in new charred oak, in a 375ml bottle.

Rye was the original whiskey of the American northeast before Kentucky corn took over, and Kings County's version is made with New York-grown rye alongside a portion of malted barley. The spirit is double distilled in copper pot stills at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the same equipment and the same narrow-cut approach used for the bourbons, then matured in new charred oak as the straight designation requires. Colin Spoelman and David Haskell have run the distillery since 2010, and a preference for pot stills and good grain over volume runs through everything they bottle.

Peppery and herbal, with clove, dried mint, rye bread and a dry, spicy finish. Neat with a drop of water, or over ice. This is the whiskey for a Manhattan, a Sazerac or a Whiskey Sour with plenty of lemon.
