Kir-Yianni Ramnista Naoussa PDO 2021

Kir-Yianni Ramnista is a Xinomavro from Naoussa, the benchmark red appellation of northern Greece.

Xinomavro means sour black, which tells you most of what you need to know: high acidity, firm tannin and a pale colour that leads people to compare it with Nebbiolo. Naoussa, on the slopes of Mount Vermio, is its spiritual home, and the appellation permits no other variety. Yiannis Boutaris founded Kir-Yianni in 1997 after leaving the family firm. The wine is aged in oak before release.

Decant and serve at 17 degrees with braised lamb, game or aged cheese. It develops over fifteen years.
