Kooyong Beurrot Pinot Gris 2024

Kooyong Beurrot Pinot Gris is a textured, barrel-fermented Pinot Gris from the Mornington Peninsula.

Beurrot is an old Burgundian name for Pinot Gris, a nod to the Burgundian approach Kooyong takes with its estate vineyards at Tuerong. Instead of making a light, simple style, the team ferments this wine in barrel and leaves it on lees, which gives a creamy mid-palate and extra depth. The 2024 has fresh pear, pink lady apple, citrus, gentle spice and white flowers. The palate is bright with pear, apple and a hint of grapefruit, a subtle phenolic grip, and a clean line of acidity.

Serve chilled, but not too cold. Try it with pork dumplings, roast chicken with lemon, or baked snapper.
