Kracher TBA Noble Cuvée 187ml NV

Kracher TBA Noble Cuvée is a multi-vintage Trockenbeerenauslese of Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Traminer, offered in a 187 millilitre bottle.

Trockenbeerenauslese is the top rung of the Austrian Pradikat system and demands individually picked, shrivelled berries fully affected by noble rot. Kracher at Illmitz makes more of it, more consistently, than almost any producer in the world, thanks to the Seewinkel's shallow salt lakes and the autumn fog they generate east of the Neusiedlersee. This cuvee is assembled across several vintages rather than declared from a single year, which allows a consistent house style: Welschriesling for acidity, Chardonnay for weight and Traminer for its spiced, rose-scented aromatics. It finishes at 194 grams per litre of residual sugar and is closed with a screwcap, the small format intended for by-the-glass service.

Unctuous and spiced, it suits foie gras, blue cheese and caramel or apricot desserts; serve well chilled at around 8 degrees.
