Description

KT Wines Tempranillo Tinta is a medium-bodied, cherry-fruited Tempranillo from Kerri Thompson in the Clare Valley.

Gentle handling and a light hand with oak are the keys to this one. The grape's great homes are Rioja and Ribera del Duero, yet the Clare's warm days and cool nights suit it well, giving a savoury red built on fine tannin. Thompson made her name on dry Riesling from her Watervale base and brings the same site-driven thinking to her reds.

Think cherries and earth, with firm, fine tannins and a savoury finish. Good at 16–18°C with chorizo, paella, lamb cutlets or beef and tomato braises.
