Ktima Matsa Savatiano PGI 2024

Ktima Matsa Savatiano comes from the Attica plateau outside Athens.

Savatiano is the most planted grape in Greece and was for decades the base of retsina, which did it no favours; grown properly on the limestone of Attica and bottled without resin, it gives a textural, nutty white with surprising ageing capacity. Ktima Matsa is a historic estate at Pallini, where some vines are of considerable age.

Serve at 11 degrees with grilled fish, chicken or mezze. Drink within five years.
