Description

L&C Poitout Bourgogne Tonnerre is a Chardonnay from a small appellation north-east of Chablis.

Bourgogne Tonnerre covers vineyards around the town of Tonnerre, on the same Kimmeridgian limestone that runs under Chablis, and the wines are close cousins at a lower price. The appellation was recognised in its own right in 2006 after decades of being sold as plain Bourgogne. Fermentation is in tank, with little or no oak.

Serve at 10 degrees with seafood, chicken or a soft cheese. Drink within five years.
