L&C Poitout Chablis Premier Cru Les Fourneaux 2023

L&C Poitout Chablis Premier Cru Les Fourneaux comes from a south-west facing slope at Fleys, east of the town.

Les Fourneaux is one of the larger premier crus on the right bank of the Serein, on Kimmeridgian marl with a warm aspect that ripens the fruit a little further than the village sites. Chablis has forty premier crus but they vary enormously; the right bank, which includes the Grands Crus, generally gives the fuller wines. Fermentation is in tank with minimal oak.

Serve at 11 degrees with scallops, roast chicken or a rich fish dish. It develops over seven years.
