L&C Poitout Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin 2023

L&C Poitout Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin comes from a steep south-facing slope at Chichée.

Vaucoupin sits on the right bank of the Serein south-east of Chablis, on Kimmeridgian limestone with a sharp southerly exposure that gives riper fruit than most village sites while the cold northern climate holds the acidity. A premier cru in Chablis must come from one of the forty named climats. The wine sees little or no new oak, in keeping with the appellation.

Serve at 11 degrees with shellfish, poultry or a creamy fish dish. It develops over seven years.
