L&C Poitout Petit Chablis 2025

L&C Poitout Petit Chablis comes from the Portlandian limestone on the plateaux above the Chablis slopes.

Petit Chablis is not a lesser version of Chablis but a different soil: Portlandian limestone on the higher, flatter ground above the valley, younger rock than the Kimmeridgian below and without the fossilised oyster beds. The wines are lighter and more immediate, meant for drinking young. Fermentation is in stainless steel, with no oak at all.

Serve at 9 degrees with oysters, seafood or a green salad. Drink within three years.
