La Crema Russian River Chardonnay 2023

La Crema Russian River Chardonnay comes from the valley where fog pushes furthest inland from the Pacific.

The Russian River Valley sits inland from the Sonoma Coast, but the river's course through the coastal hills funnels marine fog deep into the appellation, which is why it ripens later than neighbouring regions and why Chardonnay and Pinot Noir dominate the plantings. La Crema was founded in 1979. The wine is barrel-fermented with lees ageing, giving more weight than the Sonoma Coast bottling.

Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, lobster or a rich fish dish. It develops over six years.
