La Vieille Ferme Rouge 1.5L MAGNUM 2023

La Vieille Ferme Rouge is an everyday southern Rhône red from the Perrin family, one of the great names of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The Perrins have run Château de Beaucastel for generations, and La Vieille Ferme is their long-running range of wines drawn from the hills around Ventoux and the Luberon, where the vineyards sit higher and cooler than those on the Rhône valley floor. The blend is the classic southern quartet of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan, varieties that have grown side by side across the Midi for centuries and are almost always blended rather than bottled alone. It is a wine made in very large quantities and made well, and it has done more than most to introduce drinkers around the world to the southern Rhône.

Serve at around sixteen degrees, lightly chilled if the day is warm, with grilled meat, sausages or a simple stew.
