La Vieille Ferme Sparkling Rosé NV

La Vieille Ferme Sparkling Rosé is a dry sparkling rosé from the Perrin family of the southern Rhône.

The Perrins are best known for Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and La Vieille Ferme has been their range of straightforward, widely available wines for decades. This one draws on Grenache Noir and Cinsault, the traditional pairing behind pink wine across the south of France, joined by Pinot Noir, a variety used for sparkling rosé the world over. France produces a great deal of sparkling wine beyond Champagne, and this sits in that broad tradition of mousseux made for easy drinking rather than for ceremony. As a non-vintage wine it is blended for consistency, so the style stays much the same from one year to the next. The name means, simply, the old farm, and the range has been a fixture on wine lists around the world for decades.

Serve very cold as an aperitif, or with light starters, summer fruit and anything fried.
