Langmeil Legendary Cabernet Shiraz 2023

Langmeil Legendary Cabernet Shiraz is a modern take on one of Australia's classic red blends.

Blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Shiraz is a tradition that runs deep in South Australia, and the Barossa has been making wines in this style for generations. Langmeil's version leads with Cabernet, which brings blackcurrant, blueberry and a firm frame, while Shiraz fills out the middle of the palate with plum and a touch of clove and softens the tannins. A small amount of Malbec adds colour and extra fruit. The wine is matured in oak for cedar and savoury complexity, and made by a family winery at Tanunda that has worked with Barossa growers since the 1990s.

Try it with a slow-cooked beef ragù, a mixed grill or lamb shanks. Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees; it drinks well now and will hold for several years.
