Langmeil Pure Eden Shiraz 2021

Langmeil Pure Eden Shiraz is an elegant single-region Shiraz grown in the Eden Valley.

Although Langmeil's winery is down on the Barossa floor at Tanunda, the family also looks up into the Eden Valley for fruit with a different character. Higher elevation, rocky soils and cool evenings slow ripening, giving Shiraz with lifted aromatics and finer spice. The 2021 vintage was widely regarded as one of the best in recent years across the Barossa, with a mild growing season and excellent balance. Expect red and blue fruits, roasted and savoury notes, black olive and white pepper, all held together by velvety tannins and a subtle cedar note from oak.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees. It suits roast lamb with garlic and thyme, a beef and mushroom pie or chargrilled eggplant, and will cellar comfortably for another eight to ten years.
