Lark Hill Estate Sangiovese 2024

Lark Hill Estate Sangiovese is grown on biodynamic vineyards high above Lake George.

Sangiovese needs a long season to ripen its tannins, which makes 860 metres in the Canberra District an ambitious place to grow it, but the altitude gives the acidity and savoury character the variety is prized for. The Carpenter family has farmed biodynamically here since 2003. Fermentation is with native yeast and maturation in large, seasoned oak.

Serve at 16 degrees with pasta, grilled meats or a tomato-based dish. Drink over the next eight years.
