Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Villages 2024

Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Villages is a fresh, bright white Burgundy from the Mâconnais estate of Dominique Lafon.

Dominique Lafon is best known for the celebrated Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault. In 1999 he began buying vineyards in the Mâconnais in the south of Burgundy, around Milly-Lamartine, and the estate has grown since to include several villages. The same careful vineyard work that made the Meursault domaine famous is applied here, with the vines farmed organically. This Mâcon-Villages is 100% Chardonnay, fermented and raised to keep the fruit pure and the wine fresh, and bottled under screw cap. It shows generous fruit aromas and a thirst-quenching style, without being simple.

Serve it well chilled with grilled fish, chicken with tarragon, goat's cheese or a simple gougère. It is lovely young and will hold for a few years.
