Lethbridge Pinot Noir 2024

Lethbridge Pinot Noir is a Geelong Pinot Noir blended from three estate-managed vineyards.

Each of the three sources does a different job in 2024: the Moorabool home block supplies structure and the core of the fruit, Springbank adds grip, and Hat Rock brings freshness and finesse from the bay. Everything is hand-picked and fermented in small batches on wild yeast with about half whole bunches, for spice and texture. Maturation ran eleven months in mostly older oak, a deliberate pull-back that Indra Nadeson said suited the year, which needed a gentler touch in her words, and the effect is that fruit stays at the front.

Classic cool-climate Pinot: bright cherry and cranberry, a herbal note, a sappy edge, lively acid and fine tannin carrying a long, smooth finish. Serve at 15 degrees. Try it with roast duck, chicken and mushrooms, grilled salmon or charcuterie.
