Description

Lionel Faury Saint-Joseph Les Ribaudes Rouge is a Syrah from the granite terraces of the northern Rhône.

Saint-Joseph runs for some fifty kilometres along the right bank of the Rhône, and its best sites are the steep granite slopes behind the villages rather than the flatter ground by the river. Les Ribaudes is one of those slopes above Chavanay. The Faury family has farmed here for generations, and the wine is fermented with a portion of whole bunches and aged in older barrels so the granite character stays in front.

Decant and serve at 16 degrees with roast lamb, beef or peppered duck. It develops over ten years.
