Lis Neris Pinot Grigio Tradizione DOC is a crisp, fresh Friulian white in a handy half bottle.
The Pecorari family have farmed vines at San Lorenzo Isontino, in the Isonzo zone of Friuli close to the Slovenian border, for several generations. Their vineyards sit on gravelly, stony soils laid down by the Isonzo River, warmed by days off the Adriatic and cooled at night by air coming down from the Julian Alps. That combination gives white wines with good concentration and lively acidity. The Tradizione range is the estate's fresh, unwooded style, made to show clean varietal fruit and the minerally character of the site, a step up from the simple, neutral Pinot Grigio many drinkers know.
Serve well chilled. The 375ml size suits a solo dinner or a glass each for two, and it works nicely with prosciutto, grilled white fish, risotto with spring vegetables or a simple seafood pasta. Drink it young while the fruit is at its freshest.
