Little Reddie Nebbiolo Refosco is a Heathcote red drawn from five separate blocks, each handled on its own terms.

Early-harvest Nebbiolo from Willoughby Bridge is direct-pressed and fermented in old barrels; Refosco follows, picked on phenolics and macerated on skins; Nebbiolo from the Chalmers vineyard macerates longer again. The parts are made separately and assembled, which is how this label tends to work.

Serve at 15 degrees with grilled meat, mushroom pasta, hard cheese or roast vegetables.
