Description

Louis Jadot Château des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent is a cru Beaujolais made in the Burgundian manner.

Moulin-à-Vent is the firmest of the ten Beaujolais crus, its granite soils veined with manganese, and its wines age like light Burgundy rather than drinking young like Beaujolais Nouveau. Jadot bought Château des Jacques in 1996 and changed the winemaking to destemmed fruit, long fermentation and barrel ageing, which was contentious at the time and is now widely copied.

Serve at 15 degrees with roast pork, duck or a mushroom tart. It rewards ten years.
