Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé 2023

Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé is a white Burgundy from the limestone crags at the southern end of the Mâconnais.

Pouilly-Fuissé is the leading appellation of the Mâconnais, spread across four villages beneath the rock faces of Solutré and Vergisson, where Chardonnay on steep limestone gives more weight and depth than the rest of southern Burgundy. Maison Louis Jadot was founded at Beaune in 1859 and today farms its own holdings as well as buying fruit, with whites made under Frédéric Barnier at the house's dedicated white winery. Fermentation and ageing are in French oak barrels, with only a modest proportion new.

Serve at 11 to 12 degrees with roast chicken, scallops, veal or a creamy cheese. Good for six to eight years.
