Description

Louis Roederer Collection 243 in a 6L bottle is the house's multi-vintage Champagne in a format made for a room.

Collection replaced Brut Premier in 2021 and is built on a perpetual reserve begun in 2012, blended with a majority of one recent harvest and a portion of reserve wine held in oak. The number is the release, not a vintage. Louis Roederer was founded at Reims in 1776 and is unusual among the great houses in owning most of the land it draws on, farmed increasingly biodynamically. A 6L bottle holds eight standard bottles; large formats age more slowly because there is less oxygen for the volume of wine.

Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in proper glasses. One bottle pours around forty glasses, so plan the occasion.
