Description

Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis Sibi et Paucis is a cellar-held re-release of the single vineyard that made the estate's name.

Boschis is a particular terroir within the Cannubi hill in the commune of Barolo, sitting near its northern end and known historically as Monghisolfo. Sandrone farm 1.9 hectares there, directly across a small valley from the winery, and have vinified the site separately since 1985, a decision that was instrumental in bringing the concept of single-terroir cru wines to the fore in Barolo and that launched the estate onto the international stage. The parcel has a particularly good exposure to the south and south-east within a small amphitheatre, or conca, that helps hold warmth in the early morning. Bottles carrying the Sibi et Paucis stamp are held back in the estate's underground cellars and released roughly ten years after the harvest, so they reach the market closer to maturity than the original release.

Drinking now with plenty in reserve; decant and serve at 16-18°C with braised veal, truffled pasta or aged Parmigiano.
