Lungarotti San Giorgio IGT 3L 2019

Lungarotti San Giorgio IGT is the estate's blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon from Torgiano in Umbria, here in a three litre bottle.

Giorgio Lungarotti began bottling the wines of Torgiano, a small hill town just south of Perugia, in the 1960s, and the estate remains the reference point for Umbrian wine. It is still family-run. San Giorgio was first made in the 1970s and was one of the earliest Italian wines to combine Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon, in the manner later made famous in Tuscany. The two varieties are blended in equal parts. Large formats age more slowly than standard bottles and are well suited to the cellar.

A structured red for roast and grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses. Decant and serve at around 18 degrees.
