Description

Majnoni Guicciardini Chianti Superiore DOCG is a classic Tuscan red that embodies the heritage of a historic family estate with over five generations of winemaking. Produced since 1965, it represents the core expression of the estate - rooted in tradition, shaped by experience, and guided today by a strong commitment to organic and sustainable farming.

Crafted from a blend of Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Malvasia Nera, the wine reflects the classic structure and character of Chianti, with Sangiovese providing backbone and freshness, while the supporting varieties add softness and aromatic lift. The fruit is harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified with a focus on vineyard expression, followed by ageing in cement and partly in oak to balance purity with subtle complexity.

This is a structured yet approachable Chianti - grounded in tradition, with depth and balance - designed to be enjoyed both in its youth and with a few years of cellaring.

Their Chianti Superiore represents the core of the estate—crafted primarily from Sangiovese, supported by Ciliegiolo and Malvasia Nera to bring softness and aromatic lift. The result is a wine that stays true to classic Chianti structure while remaining approachable and balanced.

Recipe

Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Florentine-Style T-Bone Steak)

Ingredients:

  • 1 large T-bone steak (1–1.2kg, thick cut)
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 1 garlic clove, lightly crushed
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Cracked black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Bring the steak to room temperature and season generously with salt.
  2. Heat a grill or heavy pan until very hot.
  3. Cook the steak for 5–6 minutes per side for rare to medium-rare, turning only once.
  4. Add the rosemary and garlic during cooking to infuse flavour.
  5. Rest the steak for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  6. Slice against the grain, drizzle with olive oil and finish with cracked black pepper.

The richness and char of the steak perfectly match Chianti’s structure and tannins, while the wine’s acidity cuts through the fat, creating one of Tuscany’s most iconic pairings.
