Mapleton Vineyard Pinot Noir is a cool-climate Pinot Noir from Tasmania.

Tasmania is Australia's coolest wine-growing state, and Pinot Noir is its most planted and most celebrated grape. The island's maritime climate, moderated by the Southern Ocean and Bass Strait, brings long, cool autumns in which Pinot Noir ripens slowly, holding fresh natural acidity and developing fine, silky tannins. The best Tasmanian Pinot Noirs are prized for their elegance and transparency, drawing comparison with Burgundy rather than with warmer mainland regions. This wine is made in that fresh, fruit-led style and sealed under screwcap to preserve its freshness.

Supple and fresh, it suits salmon, duck and mushroom risotto; serve slightly cool at around 15 degrees.
