Description
Marc Brédif Vouvray Classic Museum Release is a Chenin Blanc from Vouvray in France’s Loire Valley, produced by one of the appellation’s historic estates. The domaine was established in 1893 as Château les Roches and took the Marc Brédif name in 1919 when Marc Brédif assumed control from his uncle. It has since become particularly renowned for the longevity of its Vouvray and the remarkable ability of Chenin Blanc to develop over extended periods in bottle.
Chenin Blanc is exceptionally well suited to Vouvray, where its naturally high acidity provides the structure required for long ageing. This Museum Release offers the opportunity to experience that evolution with several years of bottle maturity already behind it, while retaining the freshness and mineral tension for which Marc Brédif is known. Mature Vouvray can develop extraordinary complexity while remaining remarkably energetic, making well-cellared older releases particularly sought after.
Serve at around 10 to 12 degrees with roast poultry, richer seafood dishes, pâté, creamy cheeses or Loire-style goat’s cheese.
