Description

Marc Bredif Vouvray Collection Museum Release is a Chenin Blanc from Vouvray in the Loire, drawn from the stock of older bottles the house keeps beneath Rochecorbon.

Vouvray was among the first French appellations to be recognised, in 1936, and it has always rested on a single grape. Chenin Blanc holds its acidity even when fully ripe, which is why the wines of this stretch of the Loire outlast almost every other white in France; bottles from the middle of the last century can still be in good order. Marc Brédif has taken advantage of that since 1893, laying down part of each harvest in cellars quarried out of the tuffeau cliff above the river. The house has been owned by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette since 1980.

Stand the bottle upright for a day, pour gently off any sediment and serve at about 11 degrees with roast poultry, pork or hard cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
