Description

Massolino Dolcetto d'Alba is a red wine from Piedmont, Italy, made from Dolcetto.

Massolino is based at Serralunga d'Alba in the Barolo zone and farms Dolcetto alongside its Nebbiolo. Dolcetto ripens early and keeps low acidity, so it is bottled young and drunk young; the Dolcetto d'Alba appellation covers the hills around Alba. We have no winemaking notes for this release.

Dolcetto is generally deep purple, soft in acid and dark-fruited, with a dry, faintly bitter almond finish. Serve at 15 to 16 degrees with salumi, antipasti, pizza, or a weeknight pasta.
